This festive season, in support of the children in the Franschhoek community, The Franschhoek Wine Tram presents ‘Festival of Lights’ – a first for the Franschhoek Valley, with the hope of it becoming an annual magical Franschhoek festive affair!
Guests will arrive at the Franschhoek Terminal from 19h30, welcomed by festive music, delicious food and drink offerings, and general Christmas cheer. Departures via the double-decker tram will start from 20h00. Guests will hop onto the tram at their allocated booking time for a 20-minute journey, experiencing a specially choreographed festive light display on each side of the tram tracks.
The Festival of Lights will take place on the nights of the 19th to the 22nd of December, with five tram rides running between 20h00 and 21h40 on each night. Ticket prices are R50 for adults, R25 for kids under 18, and kids under three go free. Seats are limited per night, so pre-booking online at www.winetram.co.za is essential.
Funds raised throughout the festival will be donated to FRANCO and The KUSASA Project, two non-profit organisations that operate locally and support underprivileged children. As the Kusasa Project team always says, ‘It’s all about the kids!’, and that’s most definitely the motivation behind the event.
It’s a festive night-time adventure to be enjoyed by the whole family, and the perfect excuse to visit Franschhoek, while giving back to charity.
