On 5 December 2024 La Petite Ferme celebrated four decades as a cornerstone of luxury, hospitality, and fine wine in the Cape Winelands. They invited guests to join in celebrating the milestone.
Founded by the visionary Dendy-Young family, La Petite Ferme began as a humble farm stall and blossomed into a renowned wine estate offering luxurious accommodation, award-winning cuisine, and handcrafted wines. The estate’s legacy is woven into every corner, from the historic names of its manor suites to its flagship wine, The Verdict, which pays homage to Honourable Chief Justice JR Dendy-Young and his legacy of integrity.
Today, under the stewardship of The Nest Estate, La Petite Ferme remains a beacon of timeless charm and inspired living. The estate continues to honour its founders’ vision while evolving to meet the expectations of modern travellers.
The celebratory evening featured a heartfelt speech by the owner, who honoured the estate’s rich heritage and its journey through the years. Head chef Lance Peters delighted attendees with exquisite canapés inspired by dishes of old, including the famous trout and the lamb dish, paying tribute to the estate’s culinary traditions.
From breathtaking views of the Franschhoek Valley to the warm hospitality of its staff, La Petite Ferme delivers an experience that transcends expectations. Guests can indulge in farm-fresh seasonal dining, sip on meticulously crafted wines, and immerse themselves in the estate’s tranquil ambience.
Riaan Kruger, general manager of La Petite Ferme, reflected on the estate’s numerous accolades, including recognition from the World Luxury Hotel Awards and Haute Grandeur Awards. These honours underscore the dedication of the entire team to delivering exceptional experiences and creating unforgettable memories for guests from around the world.
As La Petite Ferme celebrates 40 years of inspired living, it remains true to its credo – where heritage meets innovation – and every moment is a memory in the making.
